The jury for the Raoul Wallenberg Award 2026 is strengthened with two new voices

Raoul Wallenberg Academy Announces the Jury for the 2026 Raoul Wallenberg Award

Raoul Wallenberg Academy is now presenting the jury for the 2026 Raoul Wallenberg Award. This year’s jury, chaired by Sven Hagströmer, welcomes two new members who will contribute fresh perspectives in the selection of this year’s laureate. The Raoul Wallenberg Award is presented to an individual in Sweden who works to promote equal human rights and, through awareness-raising efforts, makes a significant difference.

Aaron Kroon, entrepreneur and leadership expert with experience from the business sector, and Camila Salazar Atías, a prominent criminologist at Fryshuset and recipient of the 2025 Raoul Wallenberg Award, are the new additions to the jury. They will bring new perspectives to an already broad and experienced jury with deep roots in civil society, business, peacebuilding, and civic engagement.

“Through the work of the jury, we meet individuals who remind us that courage, responsibility, and compassion are still very much alive—and that there are good reasons to feel hopeful despite the challenges in the world today. This year, I believe we need the Raoul Wallenberg Award more than ever,” says Anna Urombi, Secretary General of Raoul Wallenberg Academy and member of the jury.

The jury process begins in the spring, based on nominations submitted by the public. The nomination period is open until 28 February. Submit your nomination here: https://raoulwallenberg.se/raoul-wallenbergpriset/

In addition to the prize sum of SEK 100,000, the laureate receives a miniature of the bronze briefcase created by artists Ulla and Gustav Kraitz, which is part of memorials dedicated to Raoul Wallenberg outside the United Nations headquarters in New York and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Stockholm.
